Wintertime? Pt. II....Cuffing Season
Maybe I just don't agree with the choice of words, I'm not really an avid user of slang terms to any extent and I just found out last month what this term really means (I had an idea but I never like to jump to conclusions). I just can't get with calling winter cuffing season. Sure the sentiment is nice and all it's cold so you need a warm somebody to be with but honestly do you want your relationships to be relegated to something cops do to criminals or desperate prostitutes do to their unsuspecting prey? I LOVE love...It is indeed a beautiful thing but I just can't believe that people actually like or even think about the terms they use to describe things especially somthing so sacred as a love connection. When given the image of hand cuffs one usually pictures a man or woman being held AGAINST their will by another...sure maybe love "arrested you" but to say cuffing SEASON implies that not only is this not a relationship to take all the way to the bank...it may not even be one you want to take outside of closed doors. Maybe I read too into things and I have indeed been told this on several occasions but it would be awesome if for once we all stopped using terms because they sounded cute or they were popular and actually started thinking about what we were saying. Do you wanna be cuffed in the winter then dropped when it starts to get warmer for the next thing walking? probably not so SOMEBODY....ANYBODY...PICK ANOTHER TERM TO USE! Thanx :)
